Chocolate Heart Brownies

About the Recipe

Soft and rich, decadent, vegan, gluten-free brownies for the special occasion.


For Chocolate Heart Brownies

  • 1/2 cup oat flour

  • 1/2 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1/4 cup cacao powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 3/4 cup vegan chocolate chips 

  • 1 cup plant milk (unsweetened)

  • pinch of salt

For Chocolate Ganache

  • 1/4 cup plant milk (unsweetened)

  • 3/4 cups vegan chocolate chips 

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)  


For Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 ºF and get your silicone hearts baking pan ready.

  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except milk.

  3. Then whisk in the milk until smooth. 

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared brownie pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Be careful not to overbake them. 

  5. Take the pan out of the oven and place on a cooling rack for at least 10 minutes.

  6. Then invert the pan and place the hearts on the cooling rack.

  7. While the hearts are cooling, make the ganache.

For Chocolate Ganache

  1. Microwave the milk in a Pyrex cup for 40 seconds. 

  2. Add the chocolate, salt and vanilla extract (if using) and whisk until all chocolate is melted. If needed, microwave for another 30 seconds.

  3. Let the ganache cool down slightly, then pour it over the hearts and enjoy with a nice cup of coffee!
